I am Inde, the owner of Something Clever and it is indeed, something clever and something incredibly delightful.
I purchased the store just over a year ago from the previous owners, following a move back to our hometown - HERE!
After a lifetime spent in corporate America (NO REGRETS), I now do something clever every day and something that is my very own. There is a lot to be said about that transition in life - it was all good before, and it is even better now.
While in corporate America, though I held what some might call blue-collar roles, I always brought my personal style with me. Maybe I was too dressed up for some work occasions, maybe I enjoyed the dress down days, but in everything that I wore to each role I held, I represented myself holistically and had no shame in doing so. Fashion was always something I enjoyed, but I wouldn't go as far as saying it was a passion. My passion in my former career was the people on my team, those that reported to me, as well as those I reported to. It was the BEST, and drastically different than the life I live today--which I also consider the BEST!
Now, as my husband would say, I get to play dress-up every day. While I might get to wear all of the beautiful things in my boutique, I personally, cannot call it "dress-up". Though considerably "easier" than looking out for a team of great men and helping them carve their career path, dress-up is a small portion of what the boutique means to me and the responsibilities I now have in owning a boutique. Of course, there is all of the backend work that I handle 100% myself, such as payroll, inventory, purchasing, website design and maintenance, etc, but my passion today is the CUSTOMER. Whether you are visiting me in person at our storefront location or shopping our newly released website, I want my customers to feel warm, fuzzy, welcomed, and that I have what you want or need when you want or need it--and I want to help you find it as long as you need me to.
I find great pleasure in observing my customers likes and dislikes, and stocking my boutique accordingly. Whether you tell me directly, or I hear you mention to a friend the styles you are looking for, I want to see to it that you can find it at Something Clever. Every purchase I make for the store, I have at least one customer in mind for the items. To say my boutique is specifically created for you couldn't be more true!
